개요

MySQL을 설치하고 난 후 외부에서 'MySQL Workbench' 또는 'SQLyog' 등의 SQL 관리 툴을 이용하여 원격으로 접속을 해 보면 아래와 같은 오류가 발생합니다. 즉, 외부에서 원격으로는 접속이 불가능하고 로컬에서만 접속이 가능합니다. 외부에서 원격으로 접속이 가능하게 하기 위해서는 MySQL 설정을 변경해 주어야 합니다.

지난 글에서 MySQL에서 '사용자 계정을 추가하고 권한을 부여하는 방법'에 대하여 설명드렸습니다. 이번에는 신규로 등록한 사용자 계정을 외부에서 원격으로 접속이 가능하도록 설정하는 방법을 소개합니다.

MySQL 외부접속을 위한 설정 변경

ⓐUbuntu 서버 또는 MySQL 버전에 따라 MySQL 관련 설정파일의 위치가 다를 수 있습니다. CLI 모드에서 'find' 명령을 이용하여 'my.cnf' 파일의 위치를 검색합니다.

ⓑ 검색된 파일 중 두번 째 '/etc/mysql/my.cnf' 파일을 열어 내용을 확인합니다.

만일 '/etc/mysql/my.cnf' 파일 내용이 위와 같다면 'etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d' 에 위치한 'mysqld.cnf' 파일을 엽니다.

'bind-address'를 찾아서 확인해 보면 'bind-address = 127.0.0.1'로 설정되어 있습니다. 내용을 다음과 같이 수정합니다.

즉, 기존 값을 주석처리('#")하고 'bind-address' 값을 '0.0.0.0'으로 변경하는 것입니다. 저장 후 종료(':wq')합니다.

개요

MySQL을 설치하고 실제로 데이터베이스를 운영하다 보면 데이터베이스 별로 권한에 맞는 사용자 계정이 필요합니다. 즉 'root' 계정이 아닌 별도의 개별적인 권한을 가진 사용자 계정이 있어야 보안관리가 가능합니다.

이번 글에는 MySQL에서 사용자 계정을 추가하고 권한을 부여하는 방법에 대하여 소개합니다.

MySQL Database 생성

ⓐMySQL에 사용자 계정을 추가하기 전에 사용자 계정을 사용할 데이터베이스를 생성해 보겠습니다. 'root' 계정으로 MySQL에 접속합니다.

실행한 후 다시 데이터베이스 목록을 조회해 보면 새로운 데이터베이스('testdb') 하나가 추가된 것을 확인할 수 있습니다.

MySQL 사용자 계정 추가하기

ⓐMySQL 에 사용할 신규 사용자 계정을 추가하기 전에 먼저 현재 등록된 사용자 계정 정보를 확인해 보도록 하겠습니다.

ⓑ신규 사용자 계정을 추가하기 위해 다음의 쿼리를 입력 후 실행합니다. 사용자 ID는 'testuser', 패스워드는 'TestPassword~1' 로 부여합니다. 패스워드 정책을 'MEDIUM'으로 설정하였으므로 대소문자, 숫자, 특수문자를 모두 사용해야 합니다.

mysql> CREATE USER 'testuser'@'%' IDENTIFIED BY 'TestPassword~1';

사용자 계정 추가를 위한 쿼리를 실행한 후 사용자 계정 정보를 다시 확인해 봅니다.

참고로 @ 다음의 '%' 를 입력하면 외부 시스템에서 접근이 가능하고 'localhost'로 입력하면 MySQL 이 설치된 현재 시스템에서만 접근이 가능합니다. 여기서 사용자 계정 'testuser'는 외부 시스템에서 접근이 허용된 ID로 생성되었습니다.

ⓒ신규 생성된 사용자 계정에 권한을 부여합니다.

사용자 계정 권한은 특정 데이터베이스만 사용이 가능하도록 권한을 부여하거나 'root' 계정처럼 모든 권한을 부여할 수 있습니다.

특정 데이터베이스(testdb)만 사용이 가능하도록 권한을 부여하는 경우 다음과 같이 쿼리를 실행합니다.

mysql> grant all privileges on testdb.* to 'testuser'@'%';
mysql> flush privileges;

MySQL을 종료하고 다시 신규로 생성된 사용자 계정인 'testuser'로 접속해서 데이터베이스를 조회해 보면 특정 데이터베이스 'testdb' 만 사용이 가능한 것을 확인할 수 있습니다.

반면에 모든 데이터베이스를 사용할 수 있도록 권한을 부여하고자 하는 경우에는 다음과 같이 쿼리를 실행합니다. 물론 MySQL을 종료한 후 최고 관리자 권한인 'root' 계정으로 다시 접속하여 작업을 진행하여야 합니다.

MySQL 패스워드 관련 정책

MySQL이 업그레이드 되면서 버전 별로 패스워드와 관련된 정책들이 점진적으로 보안이 강화되는 쪽으로 개선되었습니다. 변경된 내용을 모르고 사용하다 보면 아래와 같은 에러가 발생할 수 있습니다. 에러의 내용은 '암호가 현재 패스워드 정책 요구사항에 에 부합되지 않는다'는 의미입니다.

ERROR 1819 (HY000): Your password does not satisfy the current policy requirements

특히, php 스크립트 작성 시 예전 버전에 쓰던 간단한 암호를 적용하여 처리할 경우 에러가 발생할 수 있는데, 이 경우 현재 설치된 MySQL의 패스워드 정책(Password Policy)에 대해서 확인할 필요가 있습니다.

먼저 콘솔 창에서 MySQL로 접속하기 위해 'root'계정으로 로그인 합니다.

쿼리 결과를 보면 현재의 패스워드 정책 내용은 다음과 같습니다.

ⓐvalidate_password_check_user_name (패스워드에 ID 사용 가능 여부)

패스워드에 사용자 ID를 사용하는 것을 허용할 것인지 묻습니다. 만약 사용자 ID가 'root'인데 패스워드를 동일하게 'root'라고 지정하고자 하는 경우 해당 값이 'OFF'로 설정되어 있으면 허용되지 않습니다.

ⓑvalidate_password_length (패스워드 길이)

유용한 패스워드 글자 수를 지정합니다. 현재는 8자 이상으로 설정되어 있습니다.

ⓒvalidate_password_mixed_case_count (대소문자 필수 사용)

대문자, 소문자를 최소 1회 이상 사용하여야 하는 것으로 설정되어 있습니다.

ⓓvalidate_password_number_count (숫자 필수 사용)

최소 1회 이상 숫자를 사용하여야 하는 것으로 설정되어 있습니다.

ⓔvalidate_password_policy (패스워드 정책 레벨)

현재 패스워드 정책 레벨이 'Medium'으로 설정되어 있습니다. 만약 현재보다 약화된 정책을 사용하고 싶다면 'Low'로 설정하면 됩니다.

ⓕvalidate_password_special_char_count (특수문자 필수 사용)

최소 1회 이상 특수문자를 사용하여야 하는 것으로 설정되어 있습니다.

MySQL 패스워드 정책 수준 변경 방법

조회 결과를 보면 현재 패스워드 수준은 'MEDIUM'으로 설정되어 있습니다. 아래 쿼리를 이용하여 패스워드 수준을 'LOW'로 변경할 수 있습니다.

패스워드 정책수준 세부항목 변경 방법

패스워드 정책 수준을 'LOW'로 변경하더라도 정책수준이 완화되긴 하지만 여전히 단순한 체계의 패스워드를 사용할 수는 없습니다. 패스워드 체계를 보다 완화하기 위해서는 세부항목을 변경하여야 합니다. 아래와 같은 쿼리를 이용하여 패스워드 정책수준 세부 항목을 변경할 수 있습니다.

ⓐ최소 글자 길이 규칙을 '5'로 지정

작업 환경

웹 프로그램 개발시 《PHP, Personal Home Page Tools/Hypertext Preprocessor》를 이용하여 이미지, 동영상 등의 파일을 업로드 할 경우 서버 측의 용량 제한 설정으로 인해 사이즈가 큰 파일 업로드가 되지 않는 경우가 있습니다.

뿐만 아니라 따라서 서버 시스템의 규모와 사용자 수, 사용자 편의성을 고려하여 ①PHP에서 사용할 메모리 용량, ②동시에 업로드 가능 파일 수, ③업로드시 최대 실행 시간, ④업로드 파일 크기 등의 부수적인 설정을 필요로 합니다.

파일 업로드시 영향을 주는 것은 《PHP》와 《Apache Server》입니다. 따라서 php설정 파일 중 《php.ini》에서 설정을 변경해 주어야 합니다.

'php.ini'의 위치

초기에 서버를 설치할 때 설정 방법이나 버전의 차이 등으로 인해 《php.ini》의 위치는 달라질 수 있습니다. 《php.ini》의 위치를 확인하기 위하여 CLI 모드에서 다음 명령을 입력하여 'php.ini' 위치를 확인 할 수 있습니다.

해당 서버의 경우 'php.ini' 경로는 '/etc/php/7.4/cli' 입니다.

① 관리한 사이트 명을 입력합니다. 'Uncle Tom'으로 명명하였습니다.

③ 서버 IP나 도메인을 입력합니다. 포트는 생략해도 됩니다.
④ 상단 에서 등록한 사용자 계정과 비밀번호를 입력합니다.
⑤ 연결 버튼을 누릅니다.

ⓓ 확인 버튼을 누르면 아래 화면과 같이 접속되는 것을 확인할 수 있습니다.

Ubuntu Server에 SSH를 설치하는 이유는 원격 접속을 통해 명령 처리나 시스템 설정 등을 제어, 관리를 하기 위해서 입니다. SSH를 사용할 때 'su', 'sudo'명령어를 이용하여 일시적인 최고관리자 권한으로 작업을 하는 것이 일반적이지만, 보안상의 위험을 감수하고 'root'계정으로 실행을 하면 관리 업무가 용이한 측면이 있습니다.

이번 글에서는 SSH를 이용하여 원격으로 접속할 때 'root'최고관리자 계정으로 접속 가능하게 설정하는 방법을 소개드립니다.

원격으로 호스트 컴퓨터에 접속하기 전에 호스트 컴퓨터의 방화벽을 체크할 필요가 있습니다. 방화벽 활성화 상태를 확인한 후 활성화되어 있으면 SSH 접속을 허용하여야 합니다.

우선 다음 명령어로 방화벽 상태를 확인 합니다.
